Meet John A Father,
Brother, and Senior Trying
to Get Back Home

Hello, my name is John.

I’m a senior currently living alone in Wisconsin, facing many health challenges. After eight years away from my family, I’m trying to move back home to Chicago — not just for comfort, but for my health, happiness, and peace of mind.

I have a sister and two grown children in Chicago. Being near them would give me the support I need and help ease the burden of living alone with limited mobility. I use a rolling walker and live with several medical conditions that make daily life difficult. I am about 50% disabled and unable to work due to multiple back surgeries and chronic pain. I dream of having a safe, accessible place to live — one with handicap features like a stair lift and a walk-in therapy tub — so I can age with dignity and care.

This move is about more than just a new address. It’s about reconnecting with family, healing emotionally, and finding joy again in the simple things — like having dinner together, going to a movie, or just feeling the presence of loved ones. I miss holidays, laughter, and the comfort of being surrounded by people who care.

Due to divorce and ongoing medical expenses, I can’t afford this move on my own. I’m reaching out for help to cover moving costs, basic household needs, and initial living expenses as I get re-established near my family.

Your support would mean everything. It would help me build a new chapter filled with warmth, love, and the care I truly need in these later years.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to home.

With gratitude,
John

Why This Move Matters

I want to be close to my family. I want to make memories. I want to feel alive again
